Until 2020 I was Head of Group Talent Management & Learning at Erste Group Bank, one of the largest banks in Central & Eastern Europe.
In this role, my task was to future proof the bank by ensuring we had a strong pipeline of the “best of best” future leaders, equipped for the challenges, disruptions and uncertainties ahead.
Prior to that, I implemented a modern HR Business Partner Concept at Erste, teaming with the senior leadership team to drive business results by using and enabling the right employee capability, organizational productivity and engagement.
Before taking on this challenge I was Director of the Erste School of Banking & Finance, the groupwide platform for driving leadership and professional development at Erste.
In the early 90s I started my career as a senior consultant at Deutsche Bank, Head Office, Frankfurt, where I set up and managed a Center of Competence for International Business Communication. The mandate was to strategically support the bank’s global expansion in investment banking by implementing an international communication and intercultural management skills concept. During this time I accompanied the cultural integration of Deutsche Bank’s acquisition of Bankers Trust, a leading Wall Street Bank.
In 2002, as part of a Deutsche Bank outsourcing initiative, I took over this internal Center of Competence and set up my own company – International Business Communication GmbH. In addition to the original focus on international communication and intercultural management skills, I diversified the business to include professional and vocational education. We expanded our client portfolio to include large German Corporates, a Central Bank in Southern & Eastern Europe and universities and financial institutions in China.

„I have worked together with Stephanie for many years together in Erste Group where I appreciated her strategic approach towards development and learning. One of the things which I appreciated the most was how Stephanie supported women in their career development addressing the different needs of women. She also played an important role in the Women’s network of Erste Group where she always came up with new ideas having proven to be successful in her previous international assignments. The cooperation with her on this but also on all other HR related topics was excellent.”

„I got to know Stephanie when she joined our global ECLF network of senior Talent and Learning executives from major corporations. With her forward-thinking mindset and her curiosity for new trends and opportunities she quickly became a great asset for the community. „Stephanie is a passionate, results-oriented change agent and talent leader. She has a strategic perspective, sets ambitious goals and makes things happen. Wherever she works, she raises the bar of expectation and motivates people to perform at a higher level. She brings real energy to the team and instills a sense of pride and professionalism in their work. Not only that, but she is one of the most courageous and principled leaders I’ve worked with. I love her honesty and the fact that she tells it like it is. She won’t shy away or back down from a challenge if it’s the right thing to do for the organization - even if it risks making her unpopular. And she rounds this out with her strong EQ, diplomacy and ability to build great relationships and influence senior leaders.”
